About Me
Hello, I'm LaToya.
From my earliest memories, the culinary world has played a significant role in my life. My grandmother, renowned for her culinary prowess, instilled in me a love for cooking, catering, and sharing recipes. I can still vividly recall the joy of indulging in leftover cake batter with her as she whipped up her famous cakes.
In 2008, a casual conversation with a friend ignited my passion for baking. A simple question - "what if I started making cakes?" - marked the beginning of my journey.
Starting with cupcakes and cakes for family and friends, I gradually expanded to catering events, propelled by word of mouth. Together with my family, I established a home-based baking business in Atlanta, supplying signature desserts to venues like the Punchline Comedy Club.
In 2011, I took a leap and relocated to the Washington, D.C., Maryland, Virginia area to apprentice under the esteemed Daniel Poux of Danielle Desserts. This invaluable experience equipped me with the skills and insights needed to thrive in the dessert industry.
Since then, I've been fortunate to be featured in culinary magazines, blogs, and various media platforms. Along the way, I've forged connections with event planners and fellow entrepreneurs, opening doors to exciting opportunities.
Now, having transitioned from the business side of baking, I am dedicated to sharing my wealth of knowledge with you. Through recipes, creative ideas, industry insights, and profiles of remarkable individuals, I aim to inspire and inform.
Thank you for joining me on this journey.
