Happy 2022!
Now that we've all made it through the holiday season, it's time to turn the page on a fresh new chapter which is a brand new year.
The month of January is known to be a time when people begin resolutions or goals for the new year, and most times those resolutions include diets. January can be somewhat of a slower pace (temporarily) for the food industry in general. People are detoxing from holiday feasts and binge watching snacks (guilty), during extended time off.
As bakers, we can actually use this time to: go over our financials from the previous year and discover profits and losses, plan for the year ahead, rest, evaluate what works for our business and what doesn't. We can restock items, organize work-spaces, take photos for a portfolio or social media, and/or my new favorite...learning a new skill/enrolling in a baking class.
YouTube University is a great place to learn new skills and ideas, and the plus side of course, is the ability to rewind and replay for free!! There's no better time than to learn a new skill, than during our downtime. Here's a two of my favorite YouTube Channels where I love to watch tutorials:
If you prefer to go the traditional route, there are several classes that are being offered online, and with your local cake supply store.
I know personally that Cake Art in Atlanta offers cake classes here:
If you're in the Charlotte area, these are two companies that I found that offer classes
(may be online as well):
I want to freshen up my cake pop skills, so I'll be taking an online course from Cake Pop Box:
Her cake pops are always perfect, I'm definitely looking forward to learning how to make a
"well rounded" cake pop, as well as learn how to get more creative with them.

Have a wonderful year! May your year be filled with love, abundance, health, and being fully booked.
